Married 40 years, 4 children and their spouses, 10 grandkids and finally 2 new pitchforks!!!!

about us

KCJ Angus was developed simply from our names Kevin and Colleen and our four children Jerrad, Jill, Jaye and Jaclyn. Later as they began leaving and starting families of their own we said the K=Kids, C=Cattle and the J=Joy for having it all!
Both are very true and meaningful for us.

Kevin and I both showed cattle through 4-H. Kevin was raised on a dairy and potato farm and showed dairy cattle. Colleen was raised with a livestock background as her father was a livestock dealer and she showed steers. Colleen’s father (Gerald Carey) was raised on a purebred Angus farm outside of Mineral Point, WI that in its day had many prize winning cattle. Kevin and Colleen both knew that cattle would be a part of their lives
when they were married in 1974.

We purchased our first Registered Angus Cattle in 1984 after several years prior raising feeder cattle and showing steers. In 1984 our oldest child (Jerrad Zimmerman) would be old enough to join the Wisconsin Jr. Angus and the National Jr. Angus Associations. The Angus cow purchases in 1984 lead to the beginning of KCJ Angus. Three younger sisters (Jill, Jaye and Jaclyn) followed the tradition that had been started in 1984.

One went on to be named the Champion Angus s
teer at the WI State Fair.

We had many very memorable family trips to all of those places traveling to the National Jr Angus Shows all across America. The stories and people we met along the way are priceless. KCJ Angus kids had many successful showings over the years. We kept improving our herd and learning more year after year.
Trips we all looked forward to: Wisconsin SW Angus Show, Wisconsin State Show, Wisconsin State Fair and the World Beef Expo… this list continued to grow.

Our confidence grew and we expanded our showing to the NAILE in Louisville, the Kansas City Royal and the National Western Livestock Show in Denver. Our 1st year in Denver we showed the Champion Bull Calf - KCJ Rope. We are presently concentrating on raising quality high production cattle. Selling mostly bulls and heifers based on production records.
However with 10 grandchildren ranging in age from 2 to 12 years we’ve been adding a few popular Angus show sires into the program, just in case!

All four of our children are married and all four have kids and livestock, so the Angus disease continues as we have infected them all!
Kevin and Colleen would like to extend an open invitation to visit the
rolling hills of Wisconsin and KCJ Angus anytime.
